Dynamic Wellbeing is running a new weekly Kundalini Yoga class – starting on Tuesday 11 July 2017 at St Joseph’s Community Centre in Blaydon-on-Tyne from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Click here to book.

Our 90-minute multi-ability classes typically consist of 5-10 minutes of warm-up, 30-45 minutes of kriya (a set of physical postures or movements), 5-15 minutes of relaxation, and 11-31 minutes of meditation. There are no boundaries in Kundalini Yoga and it does not discriminate against physical ability, fitness level, age, gender, or body type, so classes are suitable for everyone, universal and nondenominational.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining physical postures, breathing techniques, movement, stretching, meditation, mantra, and relaxation. It is a sacred technology and is known as the Yoga of Awareness because its focus is on self-awareness and delivering an experience of your highest consciousness. Eyes are usually kept closed or partially closed during Kundalini Yoga to encourage and deepen inner focus.

What are the benefits of practising Kundalini Yoga?

The real beauty of Kundalini Yoga is in its power to rapidly elevate the body, mind, and soul. It works much faster than other styles of yoga to quickly create positive changes in many aspects of your life so that you can reach your full potential. It stimulates the body’s natural resources to increase energy, strengthen the nervous system, balance the glands, expand lung capacity, purify the blood, and clean out subconscious thought patterns to become healthy and happy.

How do I book a class?

There are two ways to book a place in one of our classes:
1. Book and pay for your place in advance for any given Tuesday night via the secure EventBrite link: https://kundalini-yoga-blaydon.eventbrite.co.uk [card payments only].
2. Drop into class on any given Tuesday night and pay on the door [cash payments only].

If you wish to drop-in and pay on the door, it would be really helpful (to aid room preparation and ensure classes are not over-subscribed) to let us know in advance that you will be attending. Please phone, text, or email us.

Please bring the following with you: yoga mat, cushion, blanket, bottle of water.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes beforehand to ensure that the class starts on time. To find us please see below.

St Joseph’s Community Centre is wheelchair-friendly and has male, female, and accessible toilets. Please let us know in advance if you have limited mobility and require assistance.
